Steve and Dustin from Stranger things - Artworks and Rant

Once again, I'm back with more Stranger Things artwork and more rant, and this time I'm focusing on the most iconic duo to ever come out of Hawkins: Steve Harrington and Dustin Henderson.Isn't it funny how a character can completely win you over? I'll be the first to admit it—like most people, I absolutely hated Steve in Season 1. He fit the classic "popular jock" mold and made some pretty questionable choices. But then, in later seasons, he didn't just grow on me; he became one of my absolute favorites. In fact, he's now one of the only characters in the series I genuinely relate to. Think about it: he's just a regular guy trying to figure his life out. He stumbles, he makes mistakes, he takes a job at a video store, and he ends up as an unlikely babysitter for a bunch of nerdy kids. He doesn't have superpowers or a genius-level IQ; he just has a baseball bat and a big heart. He feels more like a real, relatable human than almost anyone else o...

4k Colored Wallpaper of Baki Hanma from Baki The Grappler

Extremely detailed 4k high resolution illustration of Baki Hanma, son of Ogre, protagonist of Baki Grappler Anime and Manga

Baki The Grappler!

Let's be honest, if you judge it by typical standards, Baki isn't an extraordinary series. The storytelling is pretty straightforward, and the art style, while impactful, isn't what you'd call mind-bogglingly detailed like some other manga. By all accounts, it shouldn't be the phenomenon it is.
But here's the thing: it's a very popular and consistently good-selling series. So, what's the secret?I think it all comes down to the core fantasy it sells. Fighting is the absolute foundation of everything in Baki. And deep down in almost every guy, there's a part that wants to be strong and be a good fighter. It's not necessarily about being aggressive; it's about the confidence to protect yourself and your loved ones. And, let's be real, there's a primal satisfaction in the idea of knowing you're better than someone in a physical contest. Baki taps directly into that raw, unfiltered desire.
Similarly, if you just look at a picture of the protagonist, Baki Hanma, he doesn't appear all that special. Sure, he's incredibly bulky and muscular for his shorter height, but that's about it. At first glance, everything looks... normal. And then you actually read the series and discover he's practically superhuman. This is what makes him such a great inspiration, not just for shorter guys, but for everyone. He proves that power doesn't always come in a towering, obvious package.
What really separates Baki from a lot of other anime protagonists is his personality. He isn't annoying. He's not overly loud, preachy, or too kind for his own good. His goal is simple: he wants to be the strongest, and he dedicates every waking moment to precisely that. He fights, he loses, he learns, and he improves. There's barely a single moment where he truly gives up and rests—at least not until his fight with his father, Yujiro.
He seems so normal, but he's the strongest teenager in his world. He can defeat opponents who are physically larger and stronger through sheer skill. Yet, despite all that power, he retains a sense of normality, he feels like normal people. You never see him misusing his strength for petty reasons. His personality is, in many ways, like other people, except for the fact that he's completely obsessed with fighting and testing himself against strong opponents. Oh, and he has some serious daddy issues. But that relatability, the fact that he feels like a (mostly) normal person in an insane world—the "Baki-verse"—is exactly why people love him so much.

About the Picture

On this page, you'll find a custom Baki Hanma fan art piece I created. This one took a particularly long time because I started with a very high-resolution base image to pack in as much detail as possible. That's why I highly recommend you click on the image and zoom in to see it properly—otherwise, you'll miss the intricate work. When you do, you'll see that the entire portrait is composed of thousands of tiny, repeating words of "Baki."
Compared to my previous black and white artworks, this one is in full color and even more detailed. Because of its high quality, this Baki artwork isn't just for a phone wallpaper; it would also work perfectly as wall art and could be printed on a large canvas for your room or gym. However, a quick but important note: since this is fan art based on a copyrighted character, I don't own the rights to Baki himself. Please review the terms and conditions if you plan to use it for any commercial purposes.
Well, that's it from my side. I hope you liked my art and my little rant about what makes Baki such a compelling character. Thanks for reading!
